1. Odisha-Jharkhand Belt- Famous for Haematite iron ore. Badampahar Mines in the Mayurbhanj and Kendujhar districts. Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.

2. Durg-Bastar-Chamdarapur Belt- High Grade Haematite ore. Chhatisgarh and Maharashtra.Bailadadila range of hills the Bastar district of Chattisga.Iron ore from thsese Mines is exported to Japan , S.Korea from Vishakhapatnam port 

3. Bellary- Chikmagalur-Chitradurga Belt- Kudremukh deposits in Karnataka are one of the largest in the Kudremukh Mines are hundred percent export units.

There are four major iron belts in India:-
Odisha Jharkhand belt
Durg-Baster-Chandrapur belt
Maharashtra-Goa belt
Bellary-Chitradurga-Chikmaglur-Tumkur belt - This is the southern-most belt. The most important characteristic of this belt is that it is a 100% export unit due to the fact that it is located in very high altitudes where it is not easy to set up industries.
