Manganese-mediated coupling reactions are radical coupling reactions between enolizable carbonyl compounds and unsaturated compounds initiated by a manganese salt, typically manganese acetate. Copper acetate is sometimes used as a co-oxidant to assist in the oxidation of intermediate radicals to carbocations.
