Most English Bibles , including those which contain the name of God in the Old Testament, do not use the same form in the New Testament because it does not appear in the available Greek New Testament manuscripts, however, there are translations of the New Testament that translate it as Yahweh, Jehovah or some related form.

In early American religious history, the use of the name of God "Jehovah", or later "Yahweh" is ubiquitous, but by no means universal, and it is not attributed to a specific religious movement or sect.
