Gender-responsive pedagogy refers to teaching and learning processes that pay attention to the specific learning needs of girls and boys. As gender is the social norm, the roles are assigned by society.

 

  • Gender is the social norm means that the roles and duties assigned to gender are on the basis of their sex, It is a pre-determined set of roles, based on the sex these roles are assigned to.  Men and women are used to represent gender.
  • Male and female are biological term used for identification of the sex.
  • Ex:- Women should engage in cooking, and take care of the role assigned here by the norms of society.
  • In the theme "Valuing Housework", the teacher should teach about gender equality by depicting the housework.
  • Gender Equality refers to the equal rights, responsibilities, and opportunities of women and men and girls and boys. It doesn't mean that men and women become the same; only that access to opportunities and life changes is neither dependent on nor constrained by their sex.

 By teaching about the value of housing a teacher should focus on depicting housework as:-

  • as an important work that is to be valued:- The teacher is providing an important message of appreciation of the work done in the house because we tend to ignore the things which happen around us one of the things is our house and the work needs to be valued.
  • as a work that can be done by both women and men:- By teaching that the housing work can be done by both women and men, the teacher is promoting gender equality.

Hence, it is concluded that options C and D are correct in regard to the above statement.
