Tbilisi Freedom Square is located in the centre of Tbilisi and was built in the 19th century during the reign of Tsarist Russia, formerly known as Yerevan Square. In the Soviet era, it was renamed Lenin Square. After the independence of Georgia in 1991, it was renamed the Freedom Square.
